World Youth Conference – a boon for Sri Lanka Tourism

The Chamber of Tourism & Industry Sri Lanka welcomes and congratulates for the World Conference of Youth 2014 (WCF 2014) which is scheduled to be held from May 6th to 10th in Sri Lanka. The event is also considered as the largest international conference ever held in Sri Lanka. Over 1600 youths from 159 countries and more than 30 youth affairs ministries of the world and several heads of states are expected to participate in the event and it will create a conducive environment to promote Sri Lanka’s tourism industry around the world” said A.M.Jaufer, President of Tourism Chamber. WCY 2014 is hosted by Sri Lanka in the Asian Region where 60 percent of world’s population said to be lives would bring much needed international exposure to the country and would definitely project a strong positive image to the world’ further added.

The Chamber also extends its gratitude to the President Mahinda Rajapaksha, Youth Affairs Minister Dallas Alahapperuma, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunge and other organizations who have assisting to host for their efforts this first ever largest international event to Sri Lanka.
